Building momentum takes time: Regardless how unique and needed your offering is, it will take time to build momentum. Be patient and persistent — it’s a marathon, not a sprint.
Today, more than ever, wellness is at the forefront of societal discussions. From mental health to physical well-being, women are making significant strides in bringing about change, introducing innovative solutions, and setting new standards. Despite facing unique challenges, they break barriers, inspire communities, and are reshaping the very definition of health and wellness. In this series called women in wellness we are talking to women doctors, nurses, nutritionists, therapists, fitness trainers, researchers, health experts, coaches, and other wellness professionals to share their stories and insights. As a part of this series, we had the pleasure of interviewing (Zsofia Jamieson and Marta Han).
Zsofia, a former fashion executive who transformed her life after overcoming PCOS, introduced fertility-focused exercises from Hungary to the UK and now the US, empowering women to reconnect with their bodies and enhance reproductive health. Marta, a former professional ballroom dancer turned yoga teacher and integrative nutritionist, brings a dynamic blend of movement, nutrition, and hormonal health expertise to support women on their fertility journey. . Together, they created THE FERTILITY CLASS, a groundbreaking program that combines science-backed movement with nutritional and mindfulness support, empowering women to take charge of their fertility and transform their reproductive health naturally.
Thank you so much for joining us in this interview series! Our readers would love to “get to know you” better. Can you share your “backstory” with us?
Wefirst met in London in 2011 at a neighborhood playground, overhearing each other speak Hungarian to our kids, who, to our surprise, were born just three days apart. What began as a chance encounter quickly evolved into a lifelong connection and deep friendship.
We both faced personal fertility challenges and had begun exploring alternative healing approaches. Zsofia, still working as a fashion executive, had already introduced fertility-focused exercises from Hungary to the UK. Marta, transitioning from competitive dance to yoga and nutrition, was building expertise in hormonal health and fertility fitness.
Over time, our shared passion for empowering women to take control of their reproductive health grew into a mission. Together, we created THE FERTILITY CLASS, a unique and highly effective exercise method focused on enhancing blood circulation to reproductive organs, promoting organ alignment, and stimulating reflexology points to naturally support fertility.
Can you share the most interesting story that happened to you since you started your career? What were the main lessons or takeaways from that story
One unexpected moment in our journey happened when Zsofia accidentally found herself in a Zoom meeting intended for OB/GYNs and medical students. She considered quietly exiting the call, but she leaned into the opportunity, introduced herself and explained the benefits of The Fertility Class exercises. To her surprise, the attendees were deeply curious and invited us to present in a formal session for medical professionals.
This experience reminded us to embrace unexpected opportunities and highlighted growing curiosity within the medical community about holistic approaches. It reinforced our commitment to educating others and bridging the gap between traditional medicine and holistic wellness.
It has been said that our mistakes can be our greatest teachers. Can you share a story about a mistake you made when you were first starting? Can you tell us what lesson you learned from that?
When we first launched, we were so passionate about bringing our vision to life that we tried to do everything ourselves. One of our early challenges was filming our classes. We assumed it would be as simple as setting up a camera, pressing record, and going for it.
One day, after hours of filming, we realized parts of our legs and hands were completely out of frame. Another time, we discovered the microphone had died halfway through, leaving us with silent footage. Those moments were frustrating but also hilarious in hindsight.
We learned two key lessons: preparation is everything, and it’s okay to ask for help. Now, we always run test recordings and have someone behind the camera to ensure everything runs smoothly. These early missteps taught us to slow down, focus on quality, and accept that we can’t do everything alone. We also realized something surprising — there are so many talented people eager to work with us and support our mission.
Let’s jump to our main focus. When it comes to health and wellness, how is the work you are doing helping to make a bigger impact in the world?
The Fertility Class empowers women to take charge of their health through a one-of-a-kind exercise method that promotes reproductive wellness naturally. Fertility is deeply personal, often accompanied by frustration and isolation. Our classes help women reconnect with their bodies using movement designed to enhance blood circulation, improve organ alignment, and stimulate reflexology points — all essential for reproductive health.
Women around the world have already experienced life-changing results from our classes, from conceiving after years of trying, to achieving balanced menstrual cycles, and overcoming debilitating PMS symptoms.
The impact extends beyond fertility though, it’s about long-term hormonal health, stress management, and overall wellness. Our holistic approach creates ripple effects for improved health and quality of life over generations.
Can you share your top five “lifestyle tweaks” that you believe will help support people’s journey towards better wellbeing? Please give an example or story for each.
Something we always try to relay to our audience is that health improvements, even profound ones, come from very basic, most often free and attainable changes. Our recommendations reflect this ethos:
1. Start Your Day Right: Begin with a large glass of warm, filtered water and a splash of lemon to kickstart your metabolism and hydration. Follow it with a savory, balanced breakfast like eggs and avocado toast to help maintain stable blood sugar levels. By hydrating and fueling your body properly in the morning, you’ll feel more energized, experience fewer cravings, and be better able to resist afternoon sugar temptations.
2. Move daily: It doesn’t always mean an intense gym session, but we make it a point to do something active every day. Whether it’s lifting weights, fertility exercises, a walk, or yoga, we make movement a priority every day. If we have phone calls we stand or take a walk. We also have a reminder set on our phone to stand up regularly from our desk.
3. Prioritize sleep: Sleep is vital for hormone balance, energy and keeping our cycles on track. Keeping the bedroom cool, using a good eye mask to block out light, and doing some simple breathing exercises before bed make a big difference.
4. Connect with nature: Spending time outside is such a simple way to recharge. A walk somewhere quiet, away from the noise, helps calm the nervous system and brings a sense of grounding. Even though the two of us live and work on opposite sides of the country, whenever we meet up, no matter how busy our schedules are, we always make time to go for a long walk together. It’s one of the best ways to reconnect and clear our minds.
5. Build meaningful connections: Community is everything. It’s easy to feel lonely these days, even with all the ways to stay connected online. You don’t need a large social circle, one true friendship can make all the difference. We’re grateful to have each other as both partners in this venture and friends. Even with our mission of helping others, doing it all alone would feel isolating.
If you could start a movement that would bring the most amount of wellness to the most amount of people, what would that be?
If we could start a movement, it would be about movement. We’re living in a sedentary epidemic. With technology making everything accessible at our fingertips, it’s easy to go an entire day without moving. But lack of movement contributes to countless health issues, especially hormonal imbalances that affect the whole body including fertility. Our vision is to help people understand that movement in medicine and to make movement as habitual as brushing your teeth — accessible, enjoyable, and essential for everyone, regardless of age or gender.

What are your “5 Things I Wish Someone Told Me Before I Started” and why?
- Building momentum takes time: Regardless how unique and needed your offering is, it will take time to build momentum. Be patient and persistent — it’s a marathon, not a sprint.
- Don’t underestimate the power of face-to-face interactions. Online presence is important, but over time we’ve learned that personal connections often open doors that we wouldn’t have thought to pursue
- Trust and community are key: It’s not enough to show the value of your work, you need to foster relationships and build trust.
- Stay true to yourself and your mission: Early on in the process, write down your mission and all the ways it’s going to change the world. When doubt or imposter syndrome sets in down the line, you can always go back to get re-energized and refocused on your mission.
- Misinformation is rampant: For decades, pharmaceutical companies have heavily influenced how we view “healing”, often promoting treatments that are effective for severe illnesses but may not always be necessary for everyday health concerns. As a result, people default to these solutions, overlooking the power of simple lifestyle changes that can address issues with fewer risks. Focus on your qualifications and transparency to build credibility.
Sustainability, veganism, mental health, and environmental changes are big topics at the moment. Which one of these causes is dearest to you, and why?
All very important of course but mental health is closest to our mission and hearts. Chronic stress, anxiety, and trauma are major contributors to infertility and hormonal imbalances. Addressing mental health isn’t just about feeling better, it’s about laying the foundation for overall well-being. In the U.S., the work-centric culture often leaves little room for self-care, and the lack of robust maternity leave policies only adds to the strain. Through The Fertility Class, we integrate mental wellness practices like meditation and mindfulness to help women find balance in a hectic world. The effects of reduced stress are well documented in improving fertility health and chances for conception.
